Things that don't suck so much

We've been busting our balls (not literally, of course...) in the front yard this week, to the point where I can now refer to it as the front GARDEN, WITHOUT MISNOMER!
Woo!
Hehe.
I'm probably being pretty lame about it, but I'm really excited about the whole thing: it's going to look so good!
Ok ok. Ok.
...
...ok.

So firstly, a while back now, we pruned the tree. And I mean PRUNED!
I cut everything off that tree. Every little sprout, branch, stem and bud. Also, several of the larger limbs, too! It's now a bare frame, primed for shaping when the new season's growth comes in later this year.
We copped a bunch of attitude from our dictatorial neighbouring tenants who seem to think they're gods, but it was worth it. It's going to look great when the flowers and fruits come in and we prune the whole thing to a purposeful shape!
Then, we dug all the horrible, cat-poo-infested bark chips out of the "garden", and "got rid of them"... "somehow..."
THEN... we dug pavers out of the backyard where they were being used to make a messy, horrible looking section for a garden which hadn't existed in years, except as a weed and spider infested disaster area. We used these pavers to build a lovely, curving wall down the middle of the front yard area, dividing between where we would like our grass and where we would like our plants.
Then we bought top soil and compost. We've bought lots of little plants and we've even planted them! (Which is, I suppose, what you do with plants...) We've landscaped the entire (20 sqm) patch, including 3 pop-up sprinklers and a paved walking area! When our grass arrives next tuesday, our garden will be almost complete! Just a few brightly coloured flowers to go and we're set!

So we're very excited. We can't wait for our hard work to be finished and everything ready to be enjoyed. :-)

Yay!

Weed and spider infested disaster area?

Was that my room, by any chance?

    Not that I've got weeds...

... but I do have spiderwebs.

Though I've never seen the spider that makes them.

They've started to become works of art rather than webs...
